Netswitch-II
This is a very flexible RJ-45 based rack
mounted switch suitable for voice, T1, E1, ISDN, Ethernet
and other four wire twisted pair interfaces.

Functional test setups for communications products
often require cables to be swapped around during different
parts of the test. For example, a single port central office
ISDN simulator could be used to test a 2 port ISDN router
requiring the connection to the router to be moved from one
port to the other. An automated switch allows this part of
the test to be run under computer control.
The Reach Netswitch-II is a remote control, relay based switch designed for
automating tests of networking and telecommunications equipment with 4 wire
interfaces. This includes T1, G.703 (E1), twisted pair Ethernet, ISDN, Token
Ring, and standard telephone line (POTS). Each Netswitch contains two independent
1-to-8 switch groups as well as test access ports for external monitoring equipment.
The switches can be combined into a 1-to-16 configuration if desired. A quad
1-4 version is also available.
Each switch group also contains a programmable crossover ("null modem")
to simplify cabling and provide reverse polarity if needed for testing. The
Netswitch-II is controlled with ASCII commands via a 9600 baud serial port.
Up to four (4) switch box units can be controlled via a single serial line
using a multi-drop protocol.
