The DVI interface has become the standard for digital displays.
It enables high quality video with distances between the computer
and display of up to 10 meters. In order to use DVI with a raw
LCD flat panel, an OEM needs an interface board that accepts
the DVI signals and drives the panel and its inverter. This
is known as a DVI Receiver board.
The PLRC Board is a DVI (PanelLink) receiver board
that connects main-stream PC digital graphics outputs to flat
panel displays for embedded applications. The PLRC supports
panels with resolutions from VGA through UGA and their associated
inverters The board is small in size and easily mounts behind
an LCD panel. It needs only 0.7" total depth (0.5" above the
board) to facilitate slim display housings.
